The Direction of Your Heart

Posts have been popping up recently on the topic of One Little Word. I first saw this at Challenges and Adventures, where Gail was talking about how, for the last several years, she has been picking a word to focus on during that year. She also shared her plans to find a way to visually represent her word for 2009, inspired by Ali at ali edwards.

What a neat idea! So many possibilities immediately come to mind, but how do you pick just one? Then Tammy at 5 Minutes for Special Needs asked this question:

If you were to choose ONE WORD that would sum up your goals and the direction of your heart for 2009, what would that word be?

Well, that really helped me narrow it down. The word I have chosen for myself for this year is HOME. As much as I love all the different interests and activities I am involved in, my ultimate goal is to make our home be a place to retreat and connect with each other.

I wrote a little more about it today for Try This Tuesday and I’m sure I will write more about it here as the year progresses.

How about you? What word would you pick and how would you represent it?

My word would be “Patience”. That is something that I have waaaaaaaaaay too little of and I need it the most. :)

I have been thinking about this as well – what my word for the year would be. I have come across some great posts on this – yours included. Even saying the word HOME out loud seems to help me try to get my priorities in place. Thanks!
