Stamping – My Other Hobby

Besides reading and now blogging, another hobby that I really enjoy is stamping – mostly making cards. My friend Lisa introduced me to it a couple of years ago (actually dragged me kicking and screaming, as I have always insisted I am not creative and can’t do stuff like this!). Since then, I have had a lot of fun learning different techniques and projects and am so glad to have found a hobby where:

1) I can just find other people’s cards/projects I like and then copy their ideas using what I have that is similar, and
2) If I totally mess something up, all I have wasted is a couple of pieces of paper and a little bit of ink!

I mainly use Stampin’ Up for my stamps and supplies, but of course I also love trolling Michaels and A.C. Moore for cool paper and accessories. And my favorite website for ideas is Splitcoaststampers. Most of my time there is spent in the gallery (register to have access to all of them), but they also have forums and resources with tons of stamping expertise just waiting to be tapped into.

I don’t spend as much time stamping as I would like, but I did manage to send out a few Easter cards to family this year (many thanks to Lisa who created the design and helped me get them done as well). This was made from a 6″ x 6 1/2″ piece of card stock folded in half, so it actually fits in a regular (read cheap) envelope! So for all who are reading this, please consider this my Happy Easter greeting to you.
