I'm taking a month-long sabbatical for September (just posted on 9-11), but will return to blogging in another couple weeks when I can pass this sweet award on. How exciting! By the way, your #7 above is very disconcerting. I know you probably can't share many more details without it getting personal, but I hope that you receive a heartfelt response and a commitment from the department to make immediate changes and to LISTEN to your child. Really, at the end of the day, what's most important in any form of educational system is what our children learn about honor and respect from other human beings (particularly those in roles of authority). If they don't get that, then it's very likely they will give up on the rest.
